When Lucy Farnsworth established the Farnsworth Art Museum in 1935 through a bequest in her will, her intent was to honor the memory of her father, William A. Farnsworth. That intent has likely far exceeded her expectations. Today, the Farnsworth Art Museum has earned a national reputation as one of the finest regional art museums in the country, with a superb collection of American art, acclaimed exhibitions, and distinguished cultural and educational programming, Moreover, it is key to the creative economy that has transformed the City of Rockland.
The Lucy Farnsworth Circle honors the Farnsworth’s investment in what has become a
statewide and national treasure of artwork and cultural resources. It also includes friends of the Farnsworth who make their own investment in the museum’s future through a bequest, charitable gift annuity, trust arrangements or other estate provisions.
Everyone is invited to join the Lucy Farnsworth Circle at the Farnsworth Art Museum.
