Julia's Gallery for Young Artists

In conjunction with another Farnsworth exhibit, Elegantly Attired, Julia’s Gallery for Young Artists will host a holiday exhibition, Fashionably Late. This show will showcase work of teen artists from around the state who will submit art objects that explore the themes of identity, history and culture through the lens of fashion. In addition to a statewide call for art, midcoast area students will have the opportunity to attend workshops with mentor artists, the museum’s curatorial staff and other experts to investigate the cultural and political context of two time periods in America – the Victorian and the present day – and explore how history influences fashion design. Fashion pieces created in these local workshops may also be submitted for consideration for the Fashionably Late show.

Gallery hours: Wednesday-Friday, 3-5 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. Closed on holidays.
