FAM Cohort: Poetry and Art

Workshop 4:00– 6:00 p.m.
Note: We will be in the galleries 4:00-5:00 p.m. and move to the Gamble Center for an activity 5:00-6:00 p.m.
In this workshop we will explore connecting poetry to the visual arts in the Farnsworth Museum galleries. Poet, Ellen Goldsmith, will guide us through engaging activities that we can do at the museum and in the classroom. Contact Hours: 2

Artist Biography: 
Ellen Goldsmith is the author of two chapbooks: Such Distances and No Pine Tree in This Forest Is Perfect (winner of the Hudson Valley Writers’ Center 1997 chapbook contest and described by Dennis Nurkse, the contest judge, as an “incandescent collection.”). The poem, “The Secret of Life,” from Such Distances was read by Garrison Keillor on Writer’s Almanac.  A docent at the Farnsworth Art Museum and Professor Emerita of the City University of New York, Ellen Goldsmith lives in Cushing, ME.
