How can we convey to every child that they can have a dream for themselves, their community, and their world?
This year, many local schools have incorporated the concept of hopes and dreams into their school curriculum. As a part of this initiative, every child is asked to articulate a dream for themselves. In this theme-based workshop, we will work in teams to explore how we can connect object-based learning in the galleries to this theme of "dream-making."
In small groups, we will brainstorm and create lessons that use arts learning strategies and curricular connections to support this initiative. Using paintings in the galleries, teams will connect to one of the following themes:
· Hope and Reconstruction
· Resilience and Self-worth
· Dreams and Goal-setting
Together, we will develop lessons that we can then share with our students in the classroom. Contact Hours: 1.5
