Extraordinary things are happening throughout the Farnsworth campus. Stone, filament, granite and metal are appearing in the most unusual of places. Perhaps this has something to do with the upcoming Four in Maine: Site Specific exhibition which opens on Saturday, April 17.
Join us on the evening of Friday, April 16, as we celebrate the opening if this exciting new show, with a members' preview and reception from 6-7 p.m followed by a Live at Night Party for the Public from 7-8 p.m., and see for yourself what the artists Kazumi Hoshino, Jesse Salisbury, Warren Seelig, and Aaron T Stephan have been up to.
The second in a program of annual exhibitions devoted to artists working in Maine, Four in Maine: Site specific will focus on sculpture, with each of the chosen artists creating a site specific work, with sites both inside and outside the museum. The exhibition, which will be accompanied by an on-line catalogue, will run through December 2010. Support for Four in Maine: Site Specific has been provided by the Davis Family Foundation.
The primary media sponsor for this exhibition is Down East magazine, books and online.
